Full Job Description
A warm and caring family is seeking a reliable, compassionate and proactive Family Support Worker / Personal Assistant to provide practical support within the home and community. The successful candidate will support a family with three children aged 15, 12 and 4, all of whom have additional needs. This rewarding role involves assisting parents with day-to-day family life, helping to create a calm, structured and supportive environment for the children both at home and during community-based activities. Hours and rate of pay Up to 20 hours per week Before and after school hours Up to £19.00 per hour, dependent on experience Location Hertfordshire (SG8) DBS/Checks Required Training Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
- Safeguarding
- Introduction to first aid
- Health and Safety What you would be doing… Supporting the family before and after school Assisting with routines and daily activities Supporting the children during community outings and activities Providing practical support within the home environment Helping to promote independence, wellbeing and positive engagement Assisting with organisation and maintaining a structured environment Supporting parents with the day-to-day demands of family life
Reliable, trustworthy and compassionate Calm, patient and understanding Organised and able to work proactively using their own initiative Flexible and adaptable within a busy family environment Experienced in supporting children and young people with additional needs Willing to learn and implement a low-demand approach to support Confident supporting children and families within the community Previous experience supporting children with additional needs is desirable Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with both children and parents Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one), Disability Confident About Disability Confident A Disability Confident employer will generally offer an interview to any applicant that declares they have a disability and meets the minimum criteria for the job as defined by the employer.
