Full Job Description
The Careers Strategic Projects Manager (SoM) will lead on improving the career outcomes of School of Management PGT students. This includes building the culture and infrastructure to collect employment outcomes data, and intervening where needed to devise additional initiatives to boost PGT outcomes, targeting both current students and recent alumni. Whilst their focus will be on PGT students, they'll also lead on School-wide initiatives, including overseeing all Careers marketing and communications activity to current students, working with both the SoM and central Careers Marcomms teams, and working with the SoM Alumni Team to support careers-relevant communications to recent alumni. They'll also be responsible for oversight of all Careers data within SoM, relating to students' employment, engagement and satisfaction across PGT and UG students. This includes working with the central UCL Careers Team on the Graduate Outcomes Survey promotion and analysis. It also includes having oversight of all SoM Careers data metrics required to assess the value of provision. They will line manage a Communications & Marketing Officer, a Data & Surveys Manager, and a group of PGT Careers Consultant/Employer Engagement Officers.
The post-holder will need to be both strategic and operationally-minded. A natural leader, they should enjoy making detailed plans and quickly pivoting and trialling new initiatives in order to secure the desired outcomes. They should work well with stakeholders and students alike, and be prepared to launch a multi-faceted programme in order to bring about cultural change. They should be confident analysing and using data for the purpose of planning, have excellent attention to detail, and be accomplished and creative with communications.
