Careers Advisor

The Careers Adviser plays a vital role in supporting students at all stages of their educational journey. You will deliver a comprehensive programme of careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG), working closely with students, staff, parents and external partners, following the Gatsby Benchmarks. In this role, you will:

• Provide engaging one-to-one careers guidance to students across the school, particularly in Years 11 and VI Form
• Support students in making informed choices at key transition points, including GCSE, A Level, university and alternative pathways
• Guide students through application processes, including UCAS, apprenticeships and employment opportunities
• Deliver careers education as part of the PSHE programme and contribute to wider enrichment opportunities
• Organise visits, events and partnerships with universities, employers and other external organisations, conferences and careers shows
• Maintain and develop strong links with industry and higher education providers
• Support the Sixth Form team in delivering high-quality UCAS and apprenticeship processes, including advising on current developments
• Provide tailored advice for students pursuing competitive pathways, including apprenticeships and specialist routes
• Raise awareness of careers provision through events such as parents' evenings, assemblies and open events
• Track and analyse student destinations to inform strategic development of the careers programme
• Lead the ongoing development of the school's careers provision, ensuring it reflects best practice and innovation
