Full Job Description
Do you have a full clean UK MANUAL Drivers license? Have you had this for more than 1 year - You are just what we are looking for!
As a Care Support Assistant with NEAS, you will be key to supporting adults in residential care and independent supported living services to live their very best lives.
Every person we support is different, and every day in this role is different too. As part of a caring, compassionate team, you will help with everything from day-to-day tasks around the house, to outings and trips into the community, helping the adults you care for gain independence, while building strong, trusting relationships with them.
For more than 40 years, the North East Autism Society has been a leading provider of care and education services for autistic young people and adults across the North East.
With services such as residential care, supported living, schools and further education, short breaks, family support and employment support, we support autistic individuals and families throughout all aspects of life, and at every stage of the diagnostic pathway.
Key to everything we do is our focus on the individual. If you've met one autistic person, you've met one autistic person. We totally personalise our support, and the environments in which we provide it, so every autistic person can live a fulfilling life as their authentic self.
When it comes to recruitment, we are proud to be an equal opportunities employer (EOE) at NEAS. We believe everyone has the right to be themselves. We not only celebrate diversity but recognise the value and opportunity it brings. We are committed to creating a workplace where all differences are valued, and we make sure that all colleagues are given the same opportunities.
You might think that when you work in care, you'll be in a big, impersonal care home, but that couldn't be further from how we do things.
We run small, family style homes, designed to be sensory friendly for our residents, and accommodating to any needs they have.
It's important to us that our houses feel like home to the individuals living there, an environment where they feel safe, confident, and as independent as possible - making that possible is part of what you will do in a NEAS home.
What we give you:
Your time at NEAS will begin with a week's induction, introducing you to our values, how we support autistic people, and how we put the individual at the centre of everything we do.
Once you're in the home, there's still plenty of chances to learn, train, and continue to take your career forward with NEAS.
Many of our managers and team leaders have worked their way through the ranks, so we're always looking for talent to nurture well into the future.
Our other benefits include:
Boost your salary with sleep-ins at around £60 a shift
Pension scheme with employer contributions
You'll be paid and supported to achieve a Diploma in Health and Social Care
Employee discounts on over 130,000 shops and entertainment venues
Eligibility for a Blue Light Card, giving you access to amazing discounts for emergency and social workers
Employee Assistance Programme to support health and wellbeing
