Care Sourcing Officer

We are establishing a new approach to Care Sourcing within our Adult Care Directorate and seek an experienced officer to join us in establishing this business-critical function which will play a key role in meeting our statutory obligations and duties through ensuring the right advice, care and support is provided, at the right time and at the right costs. Our Senior Care Sourcing Officers embed the highest standards and consistent delivery of established practice through their management of cases and a team of officers, to provide the right advice and source the most appropriate, cost effective, care and support across all care types, at the right time, within agreed costs. They excel in customer service, establish and maintain effective relationships and collaborative working practices whilst delivering commercially astute end-to-end care sourcing. This includes identifying options, sourcing, processing, securing and reviewing provision which fulfils the referral requirements and outcomes. Making a real difference to the lives of adults with an assessed eligible need. How our team works is just as important to us as what we do and you will be expected to embody the Councils values as together the whole team establishes our new function, embeds new ways of working and fosters a collaborative, supportive, caring and learning culture. You will be:

• A professional in a relevant discipline such as commissioning, research, planning, business management or financial planning, as well as proven effective leadership and managerial experience, along with knowledge and understanding of legislation, national and local frameworks, policies and practices that governs the scope of the role, spanning Adult Social Care, brokerage services, processes and systems, as well as public financial, procurement and contracting regulations
• Someone who can build and maintain positive relationships through extensive liaison and collaboration internally and externally, along with excellent influencing, negotiation and conflict resolution skills combined with experience of managing, developing and adapting themself and a team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
