Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the leadership and day-to-day management of our care home in Scleddau, Fishguard.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and who is looking to further develop their leadership skills within a supportive care environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the home operates effectively, safely, and in compliance with all relevant regulations, while promoting the wellbeing of residents and supporting the development of staff.
Reporting & Responsibility
Responsible To: Registered Manager
Reports To: Registered Manager
The Deputy Manager will work closely with the Registered Manager and take delegated responsibility for the management and operation of the home as required
Purpose of the Position
-Support the Registered Manager in all aspects of the home's management.
-Assist in maintaining high standards of care, safety, and service delivery.
-Take temporary responsibility for the full operation of the home in the absence of the Registered Manager.
-Promote a positive culture that places residents' wellbeing, dignity, and independence at the centre of care.
-Support the effective leadership, supervision, and development of staff.
-Providing assistance with the Management of the day-to-day running of the home.
-To participate in regular Meetings in accordance with RISCA Regulations
-Ensuring high standards of care are being delivered safely in line with legislation.
-Ensure all staff are working in accordance with the Codes of Professional Practice for Social Care Wales.
-Participate in weekly Duty Manager Meetings to communicate the needs and movements of residents and staff in the home.
Previous experience in a senior role within a residential care setting
Strong leadership and team management skills
Strong IT Skills
Full UK Driving Licence
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Good understanding of person-centred care practices
Willingness to undertake all required in-house training.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Desirable Qualifications
Must hold or be working towards a Level 5 NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification required for registration).
Experience supporting regulatory inspections and quality assurance processes
Experience supervising and developing staff teams
