Full Job Description

We're offering an exciting opportunity to work with the East Kent Early Intervention in Psychosis Mental Health service (EIP) as a Band 6 clinician to work in the East EIP service covering Canterbury and Ashford localities. The role includes:

  • To manage a caseload of clients experiencing their first episode psychosis with complex needs, using evidence-based / client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
  • To work collaboratively with service users, staff, and carers to identify goals to determine and deliver an appropriate intervention/recovery plan which maximises engagement and performance whilst balancing risk, and promoting choice andindependence.
  • To provide a professional contribution to a multi-disciplinary team to support the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality mental health services with meet existing new policies, practice and standards.
  • Work with other professions within the service including substance misuse workers, carer peer support workers, STR workers, Non-Medical Prescribers, pharmacist, medics, psychology and Individual Placement Support to ensure that the clients is offered a range of support to meet the individuals and families changing needs., Specialist Care Coordinators have capped caseloads to allow for innovative and focused interventions in partnership with service users, families and carers promoting recovery, social inclusion and well-being in line with NICE guidelines.
  • The Access and Waiting Time standards ensure that people are offered NICE concordant Interventions early in their treatment. Our service aims to work alongside individuals and their families by adopting strength and recovery-based approach which maximises self-determination, and empowerment. There is a high level of individual and family work, as well as various group work activities including linking in with many partner organisations and professionals with an increasing emphasis on co-production.
  • To provide assessment of service users, analyse and interpret information gained to form an accurate formulation of function, strengths, capabilities and occupational needs.
  • To work collaboratively with service users, staff, and carers to identify goals to determine and deliver an appropriate intervention/recovery plan which maximises engagement and performance while balancing risk, and promoting choice and independence.
  • To monitor evaluate and modify therapeutic interventions in order to measure progress and increase efficacy for the best possible service user outcomes and experience
  • To act as an experienced clinician supporting best practice in line with NICE guidance and professional standards.
