Full Job Description
The night team plays an important part in supporting people through the night. For some, the night can be the most unsettled time - waking, disorientation, needing reassurance and being there when it matters.
Thistle Court Care Home doesn't have set bedtimes, were not an institute, we are a home, so some residents, who we call family members, may want support going to bed early, while others may choose to stay up watching TV or doing something that they've always done at home.
The same applies to mealtimes. Although dinner is served around the same time each day, some may prefer to eat later in the evening or during the night.
This means being there to offer compassionate support throughout the night, including personal care, as and when it's needed.
Writing up care notes on the electronic care planning system is an important part of the role, requiring attention to detail to accurately record each person's night.
Towards the end of the shift, you'll help prepare for the morning by setting tables for breakfast and making sure the home feels like a comforting home from home., Thistle Court Care Home in the centre of Frome provides residential, nursing and dementia care in a homely setting, where the home strives towards a continuation of life, shaped around each person and what matters to them, across three households (floors), each supporting people with similar needs.
