Full Job Description

Our client is a fast-developing care organisation specialising in live-in care, home and domiciliary care, night support, and supported living services. They also provide an end-of-life support service which is reflective of their commitment to treat their clients with care, dignity and respect.

Their overall approach is centred on bringing superlative healthcare outcomes to their clients to enable them to maintain their independence in the comfort of their own homes for as long as possible.

Our client is looking for full-time Care Assistants who will bring compassion, empathy and competence to help vulnerable people stay independent in their own homes for as long as possible. This role is community based and will involve travel to clients' homes which are primarily located in Crawley, Haywards Heath and Horsham.

As Care Assistants are the standard bearers of the organisation, you will need to be responsible, honest, committed, responsive, professional, and a team player.

Main Responsibilities:

- Ensure duties assigned to you by the Care Co-ordinator are carried out in accordance with the client's care plan or social services care plan.

- Maintain and update records, including medication records as necessary.

- Respect the independence, dignity, privacy and confidentiality of all clients in accordance with company policies and procedures.

- Develop and lead activities for clients.

- Keep families updated on the client's progress.

- Comply with Care Certificate Standards - Domiciliary Care Regulations and requirements as outlined in the company handbook.

- Inform the Care Co-ordinator immediately of any suspicion of abuse or violence towards a client in line with the company's safeguarding policies and protocols.

- Report any conduct which may be potentially prejudicial to the health or wellbeing of the client.

- Attend Care Assistants' team meetings and supervision as required.

Duties:

- Promote or assist with personal hygiene including washing, bathing, toileting, dressing, and getting ready for bed.

- Undertake household tasks including shopping, laundry, light domestic duties, and carry out minor financial transactions including the payment of bills.

- Encourage and enable independence and activities appropriate to the person's abilities.

- Exercise awareness of the appropriate action to take in case of an emergency.

- Comply with Moving and Handling legislation when moving clients (appropriate training will be provided).

- Work with other professionals and family / friends ensuring the safety and wellbeing of clients.

- Undergo training to enable you to carry out your duties to the highest standards and contribute to your own personal development.

- £13.00 per hour

- 21 Days annual leave

You Will Need:

- A sunny and flexible disposition

- A Full UK Driving Licence
