Full Job Description
Care Assistant Required (Must be a car driver or can drive a manual car) - Dementia Care We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and compassionate Care Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a lady living with Dementia in her own home. Dates: 1st June 2026 - 16th June 2026 About the Lady: This lady enjoys getting out and about, particularly going for drives and visiting local places, so a carer who is happy to support her in the community is essential. She has a strong long-term memory and takes great pleasure in talking about her past, sharing stories, and engaging in meaningful conversation. She has an established social circle in the local area, and friends do visit regularly, so supporting and encouraging these positive social interactions is an important part of the role. At times, she may experience some difficulties with short-term memory, which can affect day-to-day tasks. She benefits from gentle prompting and reassurance, particularly with personal care and maintaining daily routines. She thrives best when her days are structured yet flexible, follow familiar routines, and allow her to retain independence and make her own choices wherever possible. Role Responsibilities:
- Providing compassionate, person-centred Dementia care
- Supporting with personal care, offering gentle prompting when needed
- Assisting with daily routines and maintaining a familiar structure
- Supporting community access, including drives and outings
- Encouraging social interaction and engagement with visiting friends
- Offering companionship and meaningful conversation
- Promoting independence, dignity, and choice at all times
Proven experience supporting individuals with Dementia - Full driving licence (essential)
- Own vehicle preferred, or at a minimum, a manual driving licence
- Current DBS registered on the Update Service
- Caring, patient, and trustworthy nature
- Confident working independently in a home environment This position involves supporting a lady in a relaxed home setting. The ideal candidate will be kind, proactive, and able to build a trusting relationship, ensuring she feels safe, valued, and supported.
