Cardiovascular Research Data Coordinator

The post holder will be key to the administration of and support for research projects (mainly listed on the NIHR Portfolio) which are supported by the Cardiovascular Research Support Team. In particular the post holder will be responsible for data administration for allocated clinical studies., The post holder will be responsible for:

• Complex Data entry, and general research administration for allocated clinical trials.
• Where appropriate, submission of appropriate documentation to relevant authorities including MREC, LREC and Research and Development department.
• Liaise with other research staff to ensure the safe conduct of clinical trials., Work cohesively as a member of the Cardiovascular Research Support Team, assisting in the complex co-ordination of clinical trials.
• Maintain good communication and positive working relationships within the multidisciplinary team including the provision of information and liaising with Research Nurses, Administrators, Investigators and other members of the research teams relating to specific trials.
• Be responsible for accurate completion of complex trial databases and paper files, gaining information from medical notes and databases as necessary. Ensure timely submission of case report forms to the trials offices as appropriate.
• Ensure all trials are run in accordance with the principals of ICH Good Clinical Practice and other regulatory advice.
• Assist with project work undertaken with the Department
• Liaise with commercial and non-commercial trial coordinators to ensure the smooth set up and running of clinical trials., The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
  
  Literate, articulate and numerate.
• Secondary school education with A Levels at grade C or above.
• Confident IT skills, experience with MS Office Suite
• Awareness of the importance of research and understanding of the research process.
• Aware of the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
• Must have the ability to develop new skills efficiently.

• Good communication skills - verbal / written.

Desirable criteria
• Secretarial/Office experience.
• Graduate.
• Previous experience of data input in a research setting, familiar with Access database.
• GCP Training.
• Previous employment within the NHS / a health care organisation or a pharmaceutical company.
• Experience of working within a fast-moving environment, able to demonstrate ability to adapt and be flexible.
• Able to demonstrate previous experience of managing multiple tasks and good time management
• Desire to develop the role.
• Previous experience of team working within a healthcare environment.
• Previous experience in a role without constant supervision.
