Cardiology Specialist Nurse

The Band 6 Cardiology Specialist Nurse will provide specialist nursing care within the Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic and Cardiac Catheter Suite pre-assessment service. The post holder will work autonomously within nurse-led clinics to assess, investigate and manage patients presenting with chest pain and other cardiac conditions, in line with local protocols and national guidelines.

The role involves advanced clinical assessment, risk stratification, coordination of diagnostic investigations, medicines optimisation within scope of practice, and patient education. The post holder will work closely with Consultant Cardiologists and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, timely and high quality patient care, supporting service delivery, patient flow and positive clinical outcomes., You will work autonomously within nurse-led cardiology services, assessing and managing patients presenting with chest pain and other cardiac conditions. The role includes undertaking advanced clinical assessments, requesting and interpreting investigations, and providing pre-assessment for patients undergoing cardiac procedures. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary cardiology team to deliver safe, timely and high-quality patient care, including patient education and support.
