Full Job Description

At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time band 4 Gynaecology Cancer Navigator to join the Maternity, Neonatal and Gynaecology Directorate to support in meeting NHS national cancer targets.

Team building skills are imperative, as is the need to be self motivated with the ability to use your own initiative as when this is necessary.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining accurate patient tracking systems, identifying delays in the pathway, and escalating concerns appropriately to support timely intervention. They will play a key role in ensuring patients progress efficiently from referral through to diagnosis and treatment, in line with national cancer waiting time standards, including the 28, 31 and 62-day targets.

Working closely with Consultants, Advanced Nurse Practitioners/Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS), MDT coordinators, and administrative teams, the post holder will provide high-quality administrative and pathway support, maintaining oversight of patient journeys and ensuring effective communication across all stakeholders.
