Canal Maintenance Driver
Location: Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire
Salary: £13.85 per hour (40 hours per week)
Contract: Full time (seasonal opportunities through spring, summer and autumn; may lead to permanent employment all year round)
Our client look after canal waterways in London and the Home Counties. Due to the time of year and season, they have an increase in grounds maintenance work along the canal networks.
Requirements:
- Full, manual driving licence, UK
- Physically fit enough to walk several kilometres per day
- Enjoy working outdoors in all weathers
Duties:
- Grass and hedge cutting using petrol mowers and strimmers
- Leaf clearance
- Driving a 3.5tn company van from one location to another
- Clearing canals of debris and litter
- Litter picking and sweeping of footpaths
- Emptying bins and replacing bin bags
Essential:
- Full, manual UK driving licence
- A good team player
- The ability to build strong working relationships
- Reliable and an excellent timekeeper
