CAMHS Practitioner

Do you have a real passion for working with children and young people with learning disabilities? We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated clinician to join Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Learning Disability service to help deliver responsive and effective support for children, young people and their families. This post is full time (37.5 hours/ week). The service covers Herefordshire and Worcestershire. We are looking for a clinician who will be primarily working in Herefordshire, and for any service-wide meetings you will be expected to travel to the service's main base in Malvern. No two days will be the same, so flexibility, problem solving skills and a desire to make a difference are all vital for this role. You will carry out risk assessments appropriate for children and young people with mental health needs and learning disabilities and monitor and evaluate interventions using outcome measures. You will have a proven ability to liaise with and work in collaboration with relevant agencies according to the needs of the young person. You will promote and maintain good working relationships and effective communication through liaison with service users, colleagues and other professionals. You will operate in any appropriate settings including CAMHS bases, schools, families' homes, residential homes, CDC's etc. Occasional working within highly emotional environments with families and staff groups will require a high degree of self-awareness and effective communication skills. You will work flexible hours to ensure the service can operate effectively to meet individual needs. This post requires completion of all mandatory training including 'Safety Intervention' (subject to Occupational Health Clearance).
