Full Job Description
We are excited to advertise a fixed term Lead Clinician post that will sit across the Primary Intervention Team and Core Team. The post will cover a maternity leave and therefore secondments can be considered, however, this is dependant on your current employed (within SWYT) agreeing the secondment
The Core Team offers 6-8 sessions of therapeutic intervention and the Primary Intervention Team (PIT) work across the Single Point of Access (SPA) and offer 2+1 intervention, which is 1 assessment and 2 intervention sessions. This opportunity has come at a really exciting time, as we are reviewing both pathways to ensure the best service user journey possible
Ideally, candidates will have extensive experience working within the field of children's mental health in a health care setting. They should be able to demonstrate core knowledge and skills in mental health assessment, formulation, care planning and treatment
The successful candidate, will work alongside the Team Manager and other lead clinicians in the service/team, having the opportunity to be at the forefront of a developing service, and they will play a key role in shaping how services are provided to children, young people and families within the Wakefield District.
Providing Clinical Leadership through the provision of clinical supervision, caseload management supervision and teaching within the team and service. They will hold a small caseload of complex cases (usually 2 days clinical work and 3 days Lead Clinician duties)
Main duties of the job
The base for the team is at Drury Lane Health and Well-Being Centre and in Summer 2027 the team will be moving to Fieldhead Hospital permanently.
Main duties/responsibilities:
- Leadership role within the team, working alongside the Team Manager
- A small clinical, complex caseload
- Supporting Practitioners in the team with complex cases, offering supervision, clinical advice and safeguarding support
- Offering clinical supervision
- Delivering training/new processes out to the service/team
- Ensuring a governance overview in the team
- Work closely with other teams to renew/develop pathways and processes
- Take a lead in co-ordinating complex cases
- Take on additional roles, such as a service representative e.g. Suicide Prevention which will involve meetings with the relevant agencies and sharing learning with the service
- Sharing learning from incidents in the service
- Caseload reviews
