Full Job Description
This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced team completing urgent assessments for children and young people in need of psychiatric care & support. The team cover all the 6 major hospitals in Kent and Medway as well as Urgent treatment centres, community, and home assessments. All assessments need to be completed within 4hrs; therefore, car transportation is essential. The team operates 24/7 working mixed shift patterns of days, nights and weekends. Working shifts, you can enjoy great work-life balance with 3 long days on and 4 days off, perfect for those where 9-5 doesn't compliment your personal life. As an assessment team, we complete comprehensive and robust assessments, providing onward signpost. In complex cases, we convene a network around the child to support system working to ensure the right support is available to the child and family. We work closely with NHS 111, Intensive Home Treatment Team, Kent & Medway Adolescent Hospital and Locality Teams. The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
You will be a graduate qualified health care professional (e.g. nurse, social worker, occupational therapist), or will have substantial CAMHS clinical experience, and be fully registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body (e.g. HCPC, NMC BACP). They will have extensive clinical experience working with children and young people with emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties.
- They will be competent and able to provide targeted therapy relevant to their training and qualification for Intensive Home Treatment Team intervention.
- Be able to work autonomously curating care plans and risk formulations that are reflective of the needs of the young person/child. When indicated, the post holder can reflect with their colleagues to discuss complex cases and implement collective decisions/actions
We are Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust. We care for the mental health and wellbeing of people across Kent and Medway and are rated 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Our teams support children, young people and adults with a wide range of mental health needs. We also provide specialist services, including all-age eating disorder services and neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people, such as autism and ADHD. Because we work across the whole county and across hospital and community settings, we can make care more joined up and easier to access for the people we serve. Our vision is simple: we are here to help communities not just live with mental illness, but live well. It's why we're passionate about working with communities to make mental health care better for everyone. Everything we do is guided by our values: caring, inclusive, curious and confident. Join us if you share our passion for better mental health care and want to be part of a team that's working well together.
