Full Job Description
The main duties involve assessment of mental health and emotional needs of children who present in crisis. The clinician needs to be able to carry out thorough risk assessments and be able to formulate safety plans with children and their carers during times of distress.
Offer telephone support to children, young people, carers and other professionals who need advice and guidance around emotional distress.
Short term interventions around risk management and monitoring of mental state with a view to maintaining young people safely in the community wherever possible.
This is an exciting opportunity for a registered clinician to become part of the Teeswide CAMHS crisis team. The post is for a band 6 clinician who has a keen interest in childrens mental health and is able to work in a fast paced but rewarding service. The post is to work as an autonomous clinician carrying out crisis assessments and being able to formulate plans for young people and their carers during times of distress.
The crisis team is a 24 hour service that caters for children and young people up to the age of 18 living in the Teesside area and offers rapid assessment of mental health and emotional needs for children in crisis.
18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework is essential.
