CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist & Medical / Clinical Lead

We are seeking an experienced full-time CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist who will work at Cygnet Hospital Bury Forestwood and provide senior medical cover on Primrose Ward, our 12 bedded CAMHS PICU ward for young people aged between 12 and 18. The service provides for young people primarily referred from CAMHS acute services who, in the context of a severe mental illness, exhibit a high level of risk that cannot be safely managed in a CAMHS general adolescent unit, and where the level of risk is not of a persistent nature that would require longer term care in a secure environment.

The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician and will oversee and maintain the care of all ward inpatients as required and will also have responsibility for auditing the medical services rendered at the ward and ensuring their good quality in accordance to GMC standards of good medical practice and other relevant professional guidelines.

Apart from being the Responsible Clinician at Primrose Ward, you will also be the Clinical / Medical Lead for Cygnet CAMHS. You will be chairing the CAMHS Clinical Network and you will be responsible for driving best practice, supporting new and innovative ways of working and lead on changes to the Models of Care. Salary: Up to £180,000 per year + £10,000 per year for Medical / Clinical Lead for CAMHS
