Full Job Description
The CAMHS Advanced Nurse Practitioners work within the Prescribing Team here at Buxton CAMHS. They contribute to the delivery of outstanding patient care by: Exercises advanced clinical expertise, levels of judgement, discretion and decision making in clinical care. Uses highly developed specialist knowledge and skills working autonomously in completing clinical assessments, interpretation of clinical information, diagnosis, formulates complex treatment plans and evaluates care and treatment High profile, accessible and responsive leader, able to demonstrate critical thinking in decision making within CAMHS. Takes responsibility for own evidence based practice and implements and adds to the body of knowledge that supports the speciality CAMHS nursing practice on a local and national level. Leads on the development of strategic planning, service objectives and operational developments of the service working in collaboration with others Leads and participates in research and audit activity,
facilitating the cycle of continual quality improvements Promotes the service and clinical excellence by presenting innovations, audit and research. Develop and deliver specific and relevant specialist educational strategies for all disciplines both internally and externally, analysing ongoing training need.
Main duties of the job
1. To be an advanced skilled practitioner, within a multi-disciplinary team, providing specialist mental health services to children, adolescents and families in North Derbyshire.
1. To plan, implement and manage a range of complex therapeutic interventions, including psycho-pharmaceutical interventions, to ensure a client led service and co-ordinated response with other agencies
1. To establish a co-ordinated system of specialist teaching for students within CAMHS and to link with the Specialist Community Advisor service to contribute to training for mental health care partners.
1. To provide specialist advice, consultation to professionals involved in the care of children and adolescents.
2. To liaise and provide consultations for colleagues in CAMHS and affiliated professions.
3. To provide leadership for nurses in CAMHS.
