Call Handler, Communications Hub

The position is for 52 annualised hours with the requirement to move to contracted hours as vacant shifts become available over time.

We are looking for candidates who are able to work shifts across 24 hours a day and seven days a week including overnights.

Successful applicants will also need to undertake some shifts on bank holidays, including Christmas and Easter, as required, as the service operates 24/7, 365 days a year.

Successful applicants will need to be able to commit to a period of training over a fortnight during both day and night.

The role includes answering and processing telephone calls for the Emergency Primary Care services., We want to hear from people who are flexible and feel they can meet the challenge of working within this dynamic environment.

Applicants will need to be IT literate with good keyboard skills and confident in learning several new IT systems. Ideally, applicants will have some experience handling calls or regularly communicating with the public over the phone., Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
