Calibration Technician

Renishaw is seeking a Calibration Technician/Engineer to join our Group Manufacturing Quality Assurance team. Working as part of a small, highly skilled team, you will be responsible for coordinating and carrying out the calibration of a wide range of measurement and test equipment used across our design, manufacturing, and quality functions. This role plays an important part in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and traceability of equipment used to manufacture and verify Renishaw's world-leading precision products. Combining practical, hands-on calibration activities with planning, administration, and stakeholder engagement, this position offers a varied and rewarding opportunity within a technologically advanced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and perform calibration activities for a diverse range of measurement and test equipment. Maintain calibration records and ensure full traceability in accordance with company procedures and quality standards. Support Design, Manufacturing, and Quality teams by providing an accurate, efficient, and responsive calibration service. Assess equipment calibration status and identify any risks to product quality or business operations. Investigate calibration-related issues and support corrective actions where required. Coordinate external calibration services and liaise with approved suppliers. Ensure equipment is calibrated and available to support production schedules and business requirements. Contribute to the continuous improvement of calibration processes, procedures, and systems. Support compliance with quality management system requirements and relevant industry standards.

Experience in calibration, metrology, quality, manufacturing, laboratory, or engineering environments. Understanding of measurement principles and calibration techniques. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy. Good organisational and planning skills. Ability to interpret technical information and follow documented procedures. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders. Competent IT skills, including maintaining accurate records and reports Desirable requirements Knowledge of quality management systems and calibration standards. Experience working within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment. Familiarity with measurement uncertainty, traceability, and metrology principles. Engineering qualification or relevant technical apprenticeship. Person specification You will be a well-organised and detail-oriented individual with a strong appreciation for accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement. You will enjoy working with precision equipment, be comfortable managing priorities, and have the ability to build effective working relationships across multiple departments.
