They are a leading provider of instrument calibration, testing and repair services. Based at their purpose-built laboratory in Kempston, they support customers across the UK with a comprehensive range of test and measurement solutions. For over 45 years, they have built their reputation on quality, reliability and excellent customer service. Their simple promise, “45 Years & Counting,” reflects their commitment to their customers and their determination to maintain the high standards that have been at the heart of our business since day one.

They are looking for a practical and detail-oriented individual to join their technical laboratory. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a long-term career as a skilled, multi-disciplinary Calibration Engineer with Industrial Calibration Ltd. You will receive comprehensive training to calibrate a wide range of test and measurement equipment across electrical, mechanical, pressure and temperature disciplines.

The role is primarily laboratory-based at their facility in Kempston, with only occasional travel to customer sites. Full training will be provided on their calibration processes, industry standards and specialist calibration software, making this an ideal opportunity for someone with a practical mindset who enjoys working with their hands and has an interest or hobby in electronics, mechanics or engineering.

As a Calibration Engineer, you will be responsible for calibrating customer equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and relevant British Standards. You will accurately record measurement results and produce detailed calibration certificates using their specialist software. The role will also involve identifying and carrying out basic repairs to instrumentation, as well as cleaning, inspecting and labelling equipment to ensure it meets their high standards before being returned to customers. You will also assist with the general maintenance, organisation and upkeep of the calibration laboratory.

At Industrial Calibration Ltd, they recruit for attitude and potential. They are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person who is keen to learn and develop a specialist technical skill. A meticulous attention to detail is essential, along with the ability to work independently, manage your time effectively and remain focused on completing work to a high standard. You should have a proactive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn new technical skills.

Previous experience within calibration, testing, engineering or another technical environment would be advantageous but is not essential. They would also welcome candidates with an interest or hobby in electronics, such as building PCs, wiring or repairing equipment, or experience using mechanical measuring equipment such as micrometres and callipers. A full UK driving licence would also be beneficial but not essential.

In return, they offer excellent opportunities for progression and the chance to build a specialist career within a well-established business. You will receive comprehensive on-the-job training and gain experience working with a wide variety of professional measurement and test equipment across multiple technical disciplines.

They offer a company pension scheme, free on-site parking and a friendly, supportive and stable working environment within a family-run business. They also provide an excellent work-life balance, including an early 1:00 pm finish every Friday.

If you are practical, self-motivated and keen to develop a long-term career in a hands-on technical environment, they would be delighted to hear from you.
