Job Description

Metro Rod work with the likes of Equans, Amey, Aldi, Mitie, Greggs, McDonalds, Wetherspoons and many more in the FM, Social Housing, Property Management, Retail, Industrial and Leisure sectors. Despite having been around for over 40 years, we are a fast-growing and dynamic business and part of an ever-expanding group Franchise Brands.

Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and its sister company Metro Plumb are leading providers of drain clearance and maintenance services delivered on a largely reactive basis. The services are provided by over 60 franchisees with geographical coverage across the UK. We've been clearing and unblocking drains for more than thirty years and we're proud of our reputation for quality service and customer satisfaction. Major companies and leading high street names trust us to deal with all their regular drain maintenance and we'll bring the same high standards of service to tackle your drain blockage.

Within the Waste & Water Services Division of Franchise Brands, is also Willow Pumps and Filta. Two expanding businesses that focus on sewage pumps and commercial kitchen solutions. Together, the brands provide a complete one-stop shop for keeping water and waste flowing.

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity, first of its kind here at Metro Rod support centre. We are looking for a CAD Drainage Survey Processor - Environmental & Drainage to join our growing team. This is a full-time role, perfect for someone who's qualified in CAD, has worked on drainage drawings/digitising plans - adding information such as GPS data, loves technical design work, and wants to dive into real projects from day one.

You'll be working closely with our Projects team to turn early-stage concepts into clear, accurate drainage layouts. If you enjoy problem-solving, playing with layouts, and seeing your designs come to life on real sites - you'll love this role.

What Does It Entail?

You'll be at the heart of turning ideas into reality (well... underground reality). From creating proposed drainage layouts in AutoCAD to preparing OS tile plans ready for design, you'll take raw information and shape it into clear, accurate visuals.

Working closely with the Project Manager, you'll pick up projects right at the exciting pre-launch stage of new contract wins - getting everything set up and ready to roll.

Once our engineers have done their thing on site, the baton comes back to you. You'll take their drawings, bring them into AutoCAD, and transform them into polished, client-ready plans.

It's a full-circle role where you'll see projects from early concept through to finished output - perfect for someone who loves detail, structure, and seeing their work make a real impact.

What Do We Look For?

  • AutoCAD experience is essential - this is the core of the role
  • Experience in working with drainage drawings and technical design work
  • Strong attention to detail and a love for technical challenges
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organised
  • Good communication skills, good telephone manner

Personal Attributes

  • Customer focused
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Adaptable and able to take on additional responsibilities when required

What Do You Get?

  • 25 days annual leave - plus bank holidays
  • Royal London, Company Pension
  • Group Life Assurance
  • Additional Paid Leave / Special Leave
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Company Events
  • Laptop
  • Travel subsidy / mileage
