Full Job Description
We're looking for a detail-oriented CAD/BIM Technician to join our Property Safety team based in Halifax. You will be responsible for producing and updating accurate technical drawings to support the management, refurbishment, and maintenance of our property portfolio. Your role will involve creating floor plans, elevations, cross-sections, and site layouts using CAD/BIM software, as well as processing survey data into technical drawings. You'll also be tasked with surveying buildings using scanning technology, maintaining asset records (including utilities and site plans), and documenting any changes to existing properties.,
- To produce and update technical drawings for existing buildings, refurbishment and maintenance projects.
- To prepare accurate layouts, floor plans, elevations and cross-sections using CAD/BIM software.
- To maintain and update property asset records, including site plans and utilities.
- To document changes to existing properties
- To process survey information into technical plans.
- Ensure all drawings comply with UK building regulations, housing standards, fire safety requirements, and accessibility standards.
- Organize and maintain a central database for all CAD/BIM files and associated project information.
- Stay updated on new CAD and other new technologies to enhance design efficiency.
- Review and modify existing drawings as necessary
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand project specifications and thoroughly appraise external documentation.
- Ensure that quality control arrangements are effective and are consistently applied
A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle - Qualification in CAD design or related field (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment, BTEC, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
- Qualification in BIM Modelling
- Knowledge of building regulations, fire safety standards, and accessibility requirements in the UK
- Demonstrated experience in creating accurate CAD drawings in a construction or housing setting
- Use tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM to produce designs.
- Knowledge of GIS (Geographical Information Systems) software
- Ability to use IT applications such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook and to produce detailed letters and reports as required

- 27 days holiday (rising to 32 over 5 years' service) + bank holidays
