Here at GXO Hope Valley Derbyshire S33 6RP, we are currently recruiting for HGV C+E (Class 1) Drivers to join our transport team supporting our customer, Breedon Cement. If you are looking for a new challenge and the chance to develop your career, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! Don't worry if you haven't operated a powder tanker before, we will provide all the training and support you'll need to get out on the road and making deliveries.


You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, Monday to Friday, minimum of 48 hours per week guaranteed pay, with start times generally between 04:00 to 06:00 with paid breaks!


Compensation and benefits include:



  • £43,056 per annum (based on 50 hours per week)

  • £16.56 per hour

  • Paid every four weeks lunar pay

  • Paid holiday entitlement: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays

  • A week off at Christmas (3 days from your holiday allocation)

What you'll do on a typical day



  • Single drop deliveries (typically between 2 and 3 per shift) from our Hope Valley depot to manufacturing and construction industry customers

  • Load and discharge powder products (predominantly cement) under pressure from tanker to silo

  • Maintain clear communication with the transport office regarding any issues and provide exceptional service to our customers

  • Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner while ensuring required documents are completed accurately and on time


What you need to succeed at GXO



  • Previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles is essential

  • Full UK driving licence with category C+E entitlement

  • Valid Driver Qualification and Digital Tachograph Cards

  • No more than 6 current penalty points
