Full Job Description

A talented assistant buyer/ buyer is required on a 9-12-month fixed term contract, to support our Buying Department deliver against both project & business specific procurement strategies in line with the business plan for continued growth at Keon Homes. Key role responsibilities

  • Support a value added & cost-control culture throughout the Company
  • Adhere to robust processes and procedures in a consistent manner to ensure cost control via the supply chain
  • Support the procurement lifecycle of the business
  • Knowledge and input regarding product development and materials
  • Preparing and sending out enquiries for materials
  • Negotiation of terms with suppliers where required
  • Support the commercial team with preparing site budgets for appraisal sign offs
  • Carry out material take-offs for all essential packages for tendering & scheduling purposes
  • Preparing and issuing scheduled material orders for all packages across multiple sites
  • Manage general daily order requirements and handle resolution of monthly invoice queries
  • Regularly attend team meetings and site visits to ensure the production team have the procurement support required and support them in managing any discrepancies
  • Managing hired plant requirements, monitoring and reporting
  • Pre & In-contract checking of specification adherence
  • Consistently conduct pricing exercises and explore new opportunities
  • Review tender drawings and input to any amends required or raise any potential issues

    Construction experience required with take-offs and scheduling
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Commercially focused with a passion for identifying costs, risks & opportunities ability to trust & credibility with people & suppliers
  • Strong negotiation & communication skills
  • Cost awareness & ability to support the team in managing, reporting & providing commentary on budgets
  • Actively implement the commercial strategy, working closely with the buying team & commercial department to achieve business plan
  • Good understanding of procurement processes
  • COINS experience preferential
  • Full UK driving license
