Full Job Description

  • To complete general labour duties within the butchery department, including pushing and pulling of dolavs and pump trucks
  • Moving 10kg pouches of meat trimmings
  • Preparing / lining/ raking out dolavs
  • Maintain a clean and tidy area meeting both safety and hygiene regulations of the site
  • Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment at all times within the production area
  • Report any equipment defects immediately to the Line Leader
  • Uphold good housekeeping and hygiene practices to ensure product safety, with particular attention to temperature control and general hygiene
  • Attend required training in line with current legislation, Health and Safety guidelines and changing departmental operations
  • Understand and minimise energy and waste within the department

    Labouring/Factory/Warehouse experience (preferable but not essential)
  • Experience working in fast-paced, hands-on environments
  • Able to work to daily targets
  • Comfortable with heavy lifting and working in cold environments
  • Awareness of the importance of food hygiene and health and safety
  • Suitable transport to commute to HU12 8TB

  • We are currently recruiting labourers to support our butchery department with general manual labour duties at our Preston site - our primary Pork facility within the Hull and East Riding region. With significant ongoing investment and expansion, this presents an opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, forward-thinking site with plenty of scope to contribute and develop. This role requires pushing and pulling of heavy equipment in an ambient temperature environment.
