Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a permanent full time Business Support Officer to provide reception and administrative support and cover across our four Family Hub sites across the borough. Family Hubs bring together a range of services to support children, young people and families. Our Business Support Officers play a vital role in delivering this support by acting as the first point of contact for families who visit or contact our Hubs; and by carrying out a range of administrative tasks to support frontline colleagues in the work they do. This specific role, as a Roving Business Support Officer, is an exciting opportunity to work across all our hubs offering cover and support to existing staff during planned and unplanned absence.,

  • Dealing with customer or colleague enquires face to face in reception, via telephone and by email - signposting to relevant professionals where appropriate.
  • General administration including ordering and dealing with invoices, managing room booking and monitoring multiple email inboxes.
  • Supporting the delivery of both online and face to face parenting programmes ensuring information is coordinated, records are maintained and follow-up actions are completed.
  • Supporting site-based operational arrangements, including buildings-related administration, supporting with health and safety meetings and liaison with colleagues to help maintain safe and effective Hub environments.
  • Supporting digital content and information management, including keeping service information up to date across relevant platforms and helping families and professionals access clear and accurate information.
  • Managing online enquiries, ensuring these are reviewed, forwarded on to the relevant professional or responded to appropriately and in line with agreed processes.
  • Supporting the induction, guidance and ongoing development of colleagues by sharing knowledge, providing practical support and encouraging consistent working practices across Family Hub sites., Stockport Council holds a Visa sponsorship licence but this can only be used for certain roles and this campaign does not currently qualify.

    A commitment to providing a high standard of customer service with previous experience of dealing with customers, strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritise your own workload and work to tight deadlines. You should be computer literate and be confident in working with standard office IT applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. You will be expected to learn how to navigate in-house ICT systems to work with data and information; and use other applications to support services delivered virtually. You will work as part of the Stockport Family Business Support Hub and will therefore have the ability to build effective working relationships. Must be able to travel to all of the Family Hub sites at short notice.
