Calderdale Council is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to join our dynamic Public Health team as a Business Support Officer. This is a key role supporting the delivery of services that protect and improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Calderdale. We are looking for a skilled and proactive individual, ideally with experience in financial administration, who can provide high-quality, accurate and timely business support. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of administrative processes, maintaining accurate records and supporting the delivery of key projects and programmes. About the Role The postholder will be aligned to a specific area within the team but will also be expected to work flexibly, providing support across the wider service as required.,
- Maintaining and reporting financial information
- Providing comprehensive business support to colleagues, partners and elected members
- Coordinating meetings and events, including agenda preparation, minute taking and follow-up actions
- Managing multiple diaries and complex scheduling
- Mentoring and supporting Business Support Apprentices
- Supporting the introduction of new systems and ways of working to improve service delivery
We are seeking someone who is organised, adaptable and committed to providing a high-quality service. You will bring experience and confidence in business support work and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You will have: - Proven experience using Microsoft Office and IT systems
- Good team spirit and a willingness to help and support others
- Excellent organisational skills
- Proven ability to manage workload, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy
- Experience of financial administration and confidence using finance systems
- Confidence working independently, and as part of a team Experience of working in a political environment and with elected members, as well as knowledge of Lean practices, would be advantageous. Location and Working Arrangements You will be based in central Halifax; however, you must be able to travel to locations across the borough to support Public Health services as required. The team is committed to reducing its impact on climate change, and meetings are organised to be accessible via public transport wherever possible. There will be flexibility to work from home following an initial induction period.,
