Full Job Description

Our highly skilled and supportive Front Door Team is looking for a dedicated Business Support Officer to join us on a part-time, permanent basis. This is a vital role at the heart of Children's Services, providing administrative support to Social Workers, Front Door Advisors and Team Managers. Working days: Wednesday 1:30 - 5pm, Thursday 9am - 5pm and Friday 9am - 5pm As part of this busy team, you will be responsible for processing and managing safeguarding referrals received through the Dudley Portal, telephone calls and emails. Due to the urgent nature of the work, you will need to work efficiently, accurately and confidently, managing competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of service. You will communicate with a wide range of professionals, partner agencies and members of the public on a daily basis, making excellent communication and customer service skills essential.,

  • Responding to and managing all enquiries received by the Front Door service.
  • Processing safeguarding referrals received via the Dudley Portal, telephone and email.
  • Completing Local Authority (LA) checks promptly and accurately.
  • Undertaking daily DART tasks and maintaining records.
  • Processing and managing missing person alerts.
  • Supporting Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
  • Maintaining accurate records across relevant systems and databases.
  • Providing administrative support to meet the needs of the service.

    We are looking for someone who:
  • Has excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Is confident using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Has strong organisational skills and can effectively manage a varied workload.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Has experience in a business support, administrative or social care setting, or can demonstrate relevant transferable skills.
