We are recruiting a full time Business Officer to provide high quality administrative support to the Children in Care Commissioning and Home Finding Team. This post will be fixed term until March 31^st 2027. The Home Finding and Commissioning team contribute to delivering positive outcomes for children and young people by arranging suitable homes for children and young people in care, and ensuring these homes are good quality and providing value for money. Our Business Officer is an important role at the heart of the high-quality service we provide. You will be part of a highly motivated team, working closely with a range of professionals, with the aim of ensuring we deliver the best possible outcomes for our children and young people. The role can be undertaken remotely or from the office based at New Shire Hall. There will be occasions when the post holder will be expected to attend team and service meetings, including team training., This role works closely with the Children in Care Commissioning Team and Home Finding Team, providing all administrative activities to support our service as we develop systems, processes, and provisions to meet the needs of children and young people, cared for by Cambridgeshire County Council. You will provide high-quality administrative support to the team, helping ensure the smooth and effective delivery of services. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge of Children's Social Care. In this role, you will be required to use your own initiative, remain calm under pressure, and meet tight deadlines. You will utilise your excellent organisational and communication skills to meet objectives, working both on your own and collaboratively. You will be liaising with colleagues and professionals mostly via email and Microsoft Teams so you should be comfortable with digital communications. You will need to maintain a high standard of confidentiality and adhere to data protection requirements. This role will involve working across multiple databases and numerous spreadsheets so an interest in data is important. Accurate data entry and the ability to organise and maintain information is a core part of the role. To be considered for this exciting role the candidate will:

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Be able to work within defined processes/procedures.
  • Have experience in calendar management, setting up meetings, and taking minutes.
  • Work effectively with colleagues as part of a team.
  • Have a willingness to learn and progress with a can-do attitude.
  • Have an interest in working with data across various systems.
