 Are you looking for a career where no two days are the same?
We're looking for an enthusiastic, organised and people-focused Business Administrator Apprentice to join our Communities Team and help make a real difference across our local communities.

You'll gain hands-on experience while studying.



About the Employer

We're looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join our Communities Team, helping deliver events, community projects, communications and day-to-day administration across our community hubs.

What You'll Do

What you will be doing:

  • Supporting community events and activities
  • Managing bookings and enquiries
  • Working with local groups and residents
  • Helping deliver community projects
  • Creating social media content and promotions
  • Developing admin, communication and customer service skills

Administration and bookings

  • Answering telephone and email enquiries
  • Taking bookings for community activities, rooms, events and services
  • Maintaining accurate booking systems, records and databases
  • Preparing documents, correspondence, agendas, registers and other administrative information
  • Updating spreadsheets and electronic records
  • Supporting the team with general office administration

Community engagement

  • Welcoming and communicating with diverse community groups, organisations and members of the public- some groups may have complex needs
  • Providing information about our activities, services and projects
    Supporting and attending community team meetings and activities
  • Developing positive relationships with community groups and partners
  • Supporting activities at locations away from the main office

Events and activities

  • Helping to plan and organise community events and activities
  • Liaising with venues, suppliers, community groups and other organisations
  • Helping with event bookings, registrations, communications and practical arrangements
  • Supporting the team during events and activities, including occasional evening or weekend work where required

Project support

  • Providing administrative support to community development projects
  • Helping to organise meetings and maintain project records
  • Tracking actions and deadlines
  • Collecting information and helping prepare reports
  • Supporting the team to deliver projects from planning through to completion
  • Helping identify ways in which administrative processes and services could be improved

Communications and social media

  • Supporting the team with the creation and publishing of social media content
  • Helping to promote events, activities and community projects
  • Preparing and scheduling posts
  • Updating website or other online information where required
  • Taking photographs or gathering information from community activities, where appropriate
  • Helping to produce simple promotional materials
  • Working across the community

The role will involve travelling to different community locations and venues to support meetings, events and projects.
