Full Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Business Services for a full-time Co-ordination and Improvement Officer, based at Annand House in Meadowfield, supporting the Community Protection and Fleet teams. This is a varied and rewarding role where you will play an important part in improving processes, supporting colleagues and helping our services run as efficiently and effectively as possible. WHAT IS INVOLVED? You'll have an important role in keeping our services organised and continually looking for ways to improve. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and improving processes and ways of working.
  • Developing and maintaining procedure guidance notes across all functions.
  • Challenging existing processes and identifying opportunities to streamline and improve them.
  • Training and mentoring new and existing staff, including apprentices.
  • Prioritising and allocating incoming work requests.
  • Working closely with the Senior Co-ordinator to support the effective delivery of the service.
  • Providing support across other service areas and locations where required to help with performance and development.

We're looking for a professional, enthusiastic and motivated team player who takes pride in providing an excellent customer service.
  • You'll need to be:
  • An excellent communicator who can build positive working relationships.
  • Well-organised, flexible and able to manage changing priorities.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines, while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Confident using IT systems and able to learn new systems and processes.
  • Able to work independently, using your own initiative and judgement.
  • Someone who enjoys identifying improvements and finding practical solutions.
  • You must hold an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or an equivalent qualification. The role may require you to work at other locations to support the performance and development of other service areas. If you're ready to bring your organisational skills, ideas and enthusiasm to a role where you can make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.

We offer a competitive rewards package that includes attractive salaries, a generous annual leave entitlement of 27 days (rising to 32 after five years' continuous local government service), membership of the excellent contributory career average Local Government Pension Scheme, and a range of flexible working arrangements including hybrid working (home and office) where applicable.
