Full Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and experienced IUC Business Intelligence Analyst to join the Integrated Urgent Care Business Intelligence team at London Ambulance Service. The post holder will provide high-quality analytical and reporting support for our Integrated Urgent Care and NHS 111 services. This will include information relating to activity, demand, operational performance, clinical assessment, call handling, staffing and referral outcomes. The role will involve extracting, validating, manipulating and analysing complex information from a range of internal and external systems. The post holder will identify trends, exceptions, areas of good practice and areas of concern, and turn this analysis into clear and useful insight for operational teams, managers, senior leaders and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will develop and maintain business intelligence reports, dashboards, databases, spreadsheets and other analytical products using SQL Server, Power BI, Excel and related systems. They will also support managers and other users in understanding and interpreting complex information, particularly where data may be sensitive, conflicting or does not support initial expectations. This would suit an analyst who enjoys working with complex operational data, solving problems and helping services make better use of their information.Main duties of the job The post holder will: Produce regular and ad hoc statistical and performance information for operational teams, managers, senior leaders and external stakeholders. Extract, validate, manipulate and analyse complex data from a range of internal and external systems. Analyse activity, demand, operational performance, clinical assessment, call handling, staffing, telephony and referral outcome information. Identify trends, exceptions, risks, areas of good practice, data quality concerns and opportunities for service improvement. Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, databases, spreadsheets, SQL queries and other business intelligence products using SQL Server, Power BI, Excel and related analytical systems. Present complex information clearly using charts, tables, graphs, maps, written summaries and presentations. Provide advice and support to managers and other users in the interpretation and use of performance information. Make recommendations based on detailed analysis to support operational decision-making and service improvement. Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand their information requirements and deliver accurate, timely and fit-for-purpose outputs. Continually review reporting requirements and adapt information provision in response to changing operational, organisational and national priorities. Contribute to the development, testing and improvement of business intelligence systems, databases, spreadsheets and reporting processes., Our strategy 2023-2028 outlines how we plan to achieve this, and is centred upon three missions focused on:
