Business Engineer

These include Video, Commerce, Monetization, Metaverse, Gaming, Creators, AI, Messaging and more.You will write scalable production-grade code across Meta's platforms in collaboration with other product engineering teams. Serve as a trusted technical advisor to Meta's clients - working directly with them to understand their challenges, helping them integrate with Meta's platforms, and feeding field insights back to Product teams to shape platform capabilities
2. From market insights, build new products and improve existing ones in collaboration with Meta product engineering teams and cross functional partners to meet business needs
3. Understand and apply deep knowledge of products, technologies, and business to build solutions to solve for problems at scale
4. Design and build end-to-end systems and launch-plan strategies
5. Guide workflow changes, and gain consensus from stakeholders while driving toward solutions
6. Respond and maintain effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders
7. Work with clients to develop a long-term strategic plan, grounded on business objectives, and manage clients during integrations with Meta's platform products and ensure value creation
8. Build and manage strong working relationships with technical counterparts. Mentor and share knowledge with peers, creating positive atmosphere amongst team
9. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback while quickly actioning feedback from code reviews conducted of your code
10. Influence decision-making through presentation of data-centric business topics
11. Serve as a subject matter expert within Business Engineering and provide consultation on domain-level project
12. Participate in interviewing and onboarding of new team members
13. Willingness to travel 25% of the time

14. 3+ years as a software engineer building and shipping production quality code
15. Experience with open source languages such as PHP, Python, Java, or JavaScript Frameworks
16. Experience with writing and shipping reliable, scalable, and efficient code, with an emphasis on long-term maintainability, in partnership with all appropriate reviewers, in manageable pieces with relevant documentation and test plans
17. Experience with software design and architecture
18. Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
19. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta, 20. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
21. Experience contributing to open source projects, shared code repositories, and/or personal projects
22. Experience working in highly collaborative environments
23. Client facing and/or experience communicating to an audience
24. Experience contributing to developer and platform documentation
25. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
26. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
