Job description Summary: Minerva Virtual Academy is seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Manager (Community & Events) to lead our non-digital outreach and offline enrolment strategy across the UK and internationally. Your mission is to drive student enrolments by building high-value relationships with community networks, education agents, lifestyle platforms, and family-facing organisations - and by owning a strategic events calendar that delivers real-world visibility and engagement. This is a new business role at heart. You'll focus on generating leads, building networks, and delivering outreach campaigns across key offline channels. You'll work closely with the Digital Marketing and Admissions teams to ensure alignment across the full funnel. You'll also need to be a self-starter in creating sales assets for your use, including presentations, printed materials, and event collateral, all aligned with MVA's brand and messaging. Key Responsibilities Outreach Channels & Campaign Execution
- Deliver MVA's offline outreach and growth activity across five key groups:
- Media and advertising
- Referral and advocacy networks
- Events and outreach
- Workplace and organisational partners
- Lifestyle and relocation brands
- Plan and manage approximately 25 in-person events annually, including education fairs, SEND expos, and parent talks.
- Run targeted offline campaigns (print, radio, direct mail) in 6 or more key regions, each with measurable lead generation goals.
- Develop brand-aligned print collateral and content.
- Manage media buying and placement strategy across all offline channels. Referral & Community Networks
- Build and manage relationships with:
- Education agents, SEN advocates, tutoring collectives, and microschools
- Parenting communities, charities, cultural groups, and health professionals/organisations
- Employee benefit providers, relocation platforms, and lifestyle brands
- Conduct cold outreach via email, phone, and in-person networking to engage new contacts and generate enrolments.
- Contribute meaningfully to the overall goal of 200 enrolments from non-digital sources, including press, events, and offline outreach.
- Onboard and activate 15 or more high-potential referral sources annually, each with specific lead or enrolment expectations. Press, PR, and Awards
- Manage day-to-day relationships with two PR agencies, ensuring consistent visibility and aligned messaging.
- Deliver 12 or more major media features per year across national, regional, and sector publications.
- Lead 3 to 5 award submissions annually, producing compelling entries that reflect MVA's innovation and impact.
- Ensure all press and PR activity contributes directly to enquiry generation and brand awareness. Campaign Management & Performance Tracking
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of all offline campaigns - from briefing and messaging to execution, follow-up, and ROI reporting.
- Track all leads using a CRM or pipeline management tool (e.g. Zoho) to monitor source performance, conversion, and contact value.
- Collaborate closely with the Digital Marketing and Admissions teams to ensure cohesive messaging, timely follow-up, and campaign alignment with funnel priorities. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Enrolment Growth - Deliver 200 new enrolments via offline channels annually Event Performance - Plan & deliver 25+ events/year, with 90% satisfaction rate and 3-5 qualified leads per event Network Activation - Build and activate 15+ key community/referral relationships/year Regional Campaigns - Run 6+ offline campaigns with measurable uplift in enquiries Press & Awards - Secure 12+ media features and 3-5 award shortlistings/wins annually Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years experience in business development, offline marketing, outreach, or events - ideally within education, edtech, or a mission-driven organisation
- Proven track record of generating leads and delivering measurable growth outcomes
- Strong communicator with confidence in cold outreach, relationship building, and public-facing engagement
- Experience using CRM and campaign tools such as Zoho, Mailchimp, or Woodpecker
- Excellent copywriting skills - especially for printed assets, outreach campaigns, and award submissions Strong organisational and project management skills - able to balance multiple campaigns and contacts
- Ability to create high-quality presentations, event collateral, and printed marketing assets using Canva or Google Slides, aligned with MVA's brand, guidelines and tone of voice
- Self-motivated, results-focused, and comfortable working autonomously within a collaborative team environment
3+ years experience in business development, offline marketing, outreach, or events - ideally within education, edtech, or a mission-driven organisation - Proven track record of generating leads and delivering measurable growth outcomes
- Strong communicator with confidence in cold outreach, relationship building, and public-facing engagement
