Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and driven Business Development / Key Account Manager to develop new business opportunities while growing and strengthening strategic relationships across a diverse customer base.,
- Achieving sales targets, with a focus on increasing revenue, optimising conversion ratios, delivering exceptional customer service and maximising profitability.
- Building strong relationships with senior decision-makers, procurement teams, operations managers and engineers to strengthen and optimise relationships with existing customers.
- Nurturing and growing relationships with infrequent hirers.
- Identifying and developing new opportunities with key target companies to encourage repeat business.
- Managing local and national key accounts.
- Working to customer deadlines for tenders and proposal submissions.
- Delivering the full project lifecycle, from negotiation and customer order through to the delivery of tailored power solutions.
- Conducting regular business reviews with customers to understand their strategic objectives.
- Participating in the on-call rota (1 week in 6) to support emergency customer requirements.
- Staying up to date with market trends, competitor activity and sector dynamics.
- Liaising with key internal stakeholders to deliver complex, customer-centric solutions, including our Solutions, Technical and Operational teams across MEMS. - Working with sectors such as healthcare, data centres, utilities, or industrial services.
- Technical knowledge of generators and/or associated plant equipment.
- An established network within the commercial and industrial markets across the Midlands or North of England.
- A demonstrated track record of delivering profitable sales growth.
- The ability to build effective relationships at all levels within customer organisations.
- Strong presentation and influencing skills.

You are a confident, motivated professional with a proven track record in sales and account management - ideally within an engineering or plant equipment environment, although this is not essential. You have strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills, along with a "can do" attitude that enables you to build lasting customer relationships. You must be able to work independently, manage multiple accounts and opportunities, and take ownership of your workload. A good understanding of temporary power solutions and their applications across various sectors would be advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems is required, with knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Copilot desirable. A full UK driving licence is required.,
The successful candidate will act primarily as the commercial interface between MEMS and key customers, taking the time to understand each customer's individual project requirements and applications where temporary power solutions are required.
