Building Surveyor

You'll join our Building Consultancy team, working across a diverse range of commercial properties and projects. From day one, you'll gain hands-on experience and early client exposure, helping you build confidence and develop professional relationships in real-world environments. You'll work alongside experienced Building Surveyors and collaborate with colleagues across Property Management, ESG, Facilities Management, and other service lines, gaining valuable insight into the wider commercial property industry. As part of the programme, you'll attend external industry events and forums, complete your IOSH certification, and receive structured support towards your professional qualifications and career development. This position is full-time, combining practical on-the-job experience with formal learning and professional development opportunities. Available Pathways Graduate Pathways RICS-Accredited Degree

• 24-month programme designed to support you in completing the APC and becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor.
Non-RICS Accredited Degree
• 30-month programme designed to support you in completing an MSc in Building Surveying alongside the APC, leading to Chartered Building Surveyor status.
Apprentice Pathway Building Surveying Degree Apprenticeship
• 5-year programme designed to support you in completing a BSc in Building Surveying and the APC to become a Chartered Building Surveyor.
What You'll Do As a Building Surveyor, you'll provide professional advice on the condition, maintenance, refurbishment, and improvement of commercial properties. You'll work with owners, occupiers, investors, and developers, helping them make informed decisions about their property assets. You'll be involved in a broad range of building surveying activities, gaining exposure to both professional and project work across various sectors. Typical responsibilities include:
• Undertaking building inspections and property surveys.
• Preparing schedules of condition, dilapidations, and defect reports.
• Assisting with contract administration and project management duties.
• Supporting refurbishment, repair, and maintenance projects.
• Preparing specifications, reports, and technical advice for clients.
• Ensuring compliance with building regulations, health and safety legislation, and industry standards.
• Assisting clients with planned maintenance strategies and asset improvement programmes.
• Working closely with colleagues and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Entry Requirements Graduate Applicants RICS-Accredited Degree Pathway
• RICS-accredited Building Surveying degree with a minimum 2:2 classification (or equivalent).
Non-RICS Degree Pathway
• Non-cognate, non-RICS accredited degree with a minimum 2:2 classification.
Apprentice Applicants
• 96 UCAS tariff points (or equivalent) and GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent);
OR
• An Advanced Apprenticeship in Surveying or Construction Technical with a minimum DD profile (or equivalent qualification), plus GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
