We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Multi Skilled Building Maintenance Engineer to join our growing engineering family, delivering facilities support services across our client sites within the South East Cluster. This role is responsible for carrying out a wide range of general fabric, minor electrical, and mechanical maintenance activities, supporting site teams in the delivery of reactive, planned, and ad hoc maintenance tasks. Suitable training and upskilling may be provided as required to support competency development. Core working hours are 08:00 to 17:00, with flexibility required depending on operational needs. Role Responsibilities
- Undertake planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical building services equipment, including boilers, pumps, compressed air systems, sanitary ware, fan coil units, air handling units, and BMS systems.
- Carry out inspection and reactive maintenance activities on electrical building services equipment within competency levels, including lighting, small power, distribution systems, and building controls.
- Support the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of all M&E building services and fabric equipment in line with Permit to Work systems, Risk Assessments, and Safe Systems of Work.
- Participate in shift patterns, on-call rotas, and out-of-hours working, including weekends, to support reactive and intrusive maintenance activities.
- Use CAFM systems via handheld devices to accurately record work, monitor subcontractor performance, and support operational reporting. Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Comply fully with company and group health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Take personal responsibility for maintaining a safe working environment in line with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and associated legislation.
- Use all tools, equipment, and PPE correctly and report any hazards, deficiencies, or training needs promptly.
- Promote energy efficiency, participate in energy-saving initiatives, and support continuous improvement in operational performance. Required Qualifications Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.
- Proven experience in building maintenance with a strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Knowledge of statutory compliance within a building services environment.
- Ability to write and follow risk assessments and method statements.
- Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
