Who You Are You are a dedicated and experienced Senior Building Surveyor with full membership in a professional body such as RICS, ABE, or CIOB. With substantial experience in Building Control (BC), you possess strong professional abilities across a complete range of BC activities. You are a team worker who is self-motivated, organized, methodical, and able to work under pressure to meet targets. Confidence, integrity, and a proactive attitude define your professional approach, along with a strong commitment to providing excellent service and engaging effectively with others. You have an in-depth understanding of safety protocols and possess the necessary qualifications and licenses, including a full UK driving license.
What the Job Involves As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will be a key member of the Building Control team. Your primary responsibilities include ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation, providing professional advice, and dealing with unauthorized work. You will take a lead role in decisions related to Dangerous Structures and engage with emergency plans when necessary. Part of your duties will also include deputizing for the Principal Building Surveyor and participating in out-of-hours emergency callouts. Training and mentoring junior staff, marketing and promoting the Building Control Service, and continually optimizing service procedures form essential aspects of your role.
