Please ensure that you make it clear on your application form that you wish to be considered under these criteria. Responsibilities What You'll Be Doing:
- Assessing building regulation applications and carrying out site inspections
- Contributing to safe, sustainable, and compliant developments across Erewash, Broxtowe, Mansfield, Ashfield and Gedling.
- Supporting demolition licensing and the dangerous structures response service
- Mentoring Assistant Building Control Officers and supporting professional development
- Participating in out-of-hours emergency standby on a rota basis
Degree in Building Surveying (or equivalent relevant experience) or HNC/HND in construction and experience as a qualified Building Surveyor - Ideally corporate membership or working towards corporate membership of: o CABE, CIOB, or RICS
- Willingness (or ability) to achieve LABC Level 6 Competency through assessment and achieve level 2F validation with the Building Safety Regulator
- Understanding of the Building Act 1984 and the Building Regulations
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to maintaining high service standards
Full time Salary Salary: Grade G - £39,152 to £42,839 per year (pay award pending) (plus standby allowance), In addition to a competitive salary, you will also have access to: - Generous annual leave package - 29 days annual leave (rising to 33 days after 5 years' continuous service) plus 8 bank holidays a year
