Your usual workplace will be the Town Hall in Long Eaton, but you'll travel to other sites within our partner authorities when required., The Council is positive about disabled people and those who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. Please ensure that you make it clear on your application form that you wish to be considered under these criteria. Responsibilities What You'll Be Doing:
• Assessing building regulation applications and carrying out site inspections
• Contributing to safe, sustainable, and compliant developments across Erewash, Broxtowe, Mansfield, Ashfield and Gedling.
• Supporting demolition licensing and the dangerous structures response service
• Mentoring Assistant Building Control Officers and supporting professional development
• Participating in out-of-hours emergency standby on a rota basis
  
  Degree in Building Surveying (or equivalent relevant experience) or HNC/HND in construction and experience as a qualified Building Surveyor
• Ideally corporate membership or working towards corporate membership of:
o CABE, CIOB, or RICS
• Willingness (or ability) to achieve LABC Level 6 Competency through assessment and achieve level 2F validation with the Building Safety Regulator
• Understanding of the Building Act 1984 and the Building Regulations
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to maintaining high service standards

Salary Salary: Grade G - £39,152 to £42,839 per year (pay award pending) (plus standby allowance), In addition to a competitive salary, you will also have access to:
