Breathing Apparatus Trainer

As a Breathing Apparatus Trainer, you'll play a vital role in delivering hands-on, safety-critical training that directly supports the operational readiness of London's frontline fire crews. Day-to-day, you'll have the following responsibilities:

• Delivering core firefighter skills training, including Breathing Apparatus and Level 3 apprenticeship modules.
• Assessing learner performance and providing constructive feedback to support progression.
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and professional learning environment following Fit to Train, safety and welfare policies.
• Managing learner welfare issues and escalating concerns via established safeguarding procedures.
• Ensuring training resources and equipment are suitable and raising any issues with senior colleagues.
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role. This is a full-time, onsite role working 37.5 hours per week based at Beckton or Park Royal, near London. You will be working Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends.


• Training or assessing qualification at Level 3 or above (can be obtained through Babcock).
• Experience teaching, coaching, assessing or presenting to groups of adults (desirable).
• Fire-related background or operational experience (advantageous).
