Full Job Description
- Preparing and cooking breakfast, brunch, and lunch dishes to a high standard
- Cooking menu items including:
- Eggs Benedict
- Full English Breakfast
- American Breakfast
- Burgers
- Shakshuka
- Pancakes
- Sandwiches and toasted items
- Food preparation
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen organisation
- Cleaning kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils to required standards
- Organising, storing, and rotating food items correctly (FIFO system)
- Correctly dating and labelling all food items
- Carrying out and recording daily temperature checks for fridges, freezers, and cooked food
- Maintaining hygiene records and completing the kitchen hygiene logbook
- Managing allergens correctly and ensuring accurate communication of allergen information
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering and stock control
- Receiving deliveries and ensuring proper storage of goods
- Supporting stock management and reducing waste
- Following all food safety and health & safety procedures
- Working efficiently during busy breakfast and brunch service
We are currently looking for an experienced and reliable Breakfast Chef to join our team on a full-time basis., Valid Food Hygiene Certificate - Valid Allergen Awareness Certificate
- Strong knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
- Good communication skills and professional attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, organised, and able to work under pressure Preferred Experience
- Minimum 3 years of cooking experience
- Previous experience as a breakfast chef or in a busy café/brunch kitchen Additional Information
- Must be able to reliably commute to London SE14 6AS or be willing to relocate
- This is an in-person role
Wakey Wakey Café is a vibrant and busy café in the heart of New Cross, serving all-day breakfast, brunch, and lunch. We are open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the kitchen operating until 5:00 PM.
