Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a brand professional who enjoys combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. Working closely with the Head of Brand, you'll support the implementation and governance of UCL's brand narrative, visual identity and tone of voice across the university. You'll partner with colleagues from faculties, professional services teams and external suppliers to ensure brand activity is aligned, impactful and distinctive. From advising stakeholders on brand application and managing brand resources, to supporting communications, digital content, photography and brand projects, you'll play a key role in shaping how UCL presents itself to audiences around the world. You'll also help develop brand tools, maintain digital assets, support reporting and analytics, manage relationships with agencies and suppliers, and champion best practice across the organisation. As a visible ambassador for the brand, you'll contribute to building understanding, confidence and engagement with the UCL brand community. This role offers the opportunity to influence brand experiences at scale while working within one of the most respected and recognisable institutions in higher education. Please note, this is an internal recruitment advert, available to eligible UCL workers only. The role is offered on a fixed term contract/secondment basis until 31st July 2027. The role offered hybrid working with currently a minimum of 2-days per week onsite at our Bidborough House office (subject to change).

You'll be a confident and collaborative brand professional with experience delivering successful brand, marketing or communications projects within a complex organisation. Whether your background is in-house, agency-side, higher education or another large-scale environment, you'll understand the importance of balancing creativity with consistency and governance. You will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, enabling you to work effectively with colleagues, senior stakeholders, external agencies and suppliers. Comfortable advising others and influencing decisions, you'll be able to adapt your approach to different audiences while ensuring communications remain accessible, inclusive and aligned with brand objectives. Highly organised and detail-oriented, you'll enjoy managing multiple priorities and seeing projects through from concept to delivery. You'll bring strong editorial judgement, an eye for visual identity, and a commitment to maintaining high standards across every touchpoint. Most importantly, you'll be curious, proactive and enthusiastic about the power of brand. You'll enjoy working as part of a team, building partnerships across a diverse institution and helping colleagues understand, champion and apply the UCL brand. Experience within higher education would be beneficial, but we're equally interested in candidates who can bring fresh perspectives, ideas and expertise from other sectors.
