We are seeking applications from enthusiastic, capable, flexible scientists to become a team manager with responsibility for the operational delivery of core and specialist blood transfusion services., The post holder will exercise autonomy within professional boundaries and will be involved in managing priorities, designing and implementing developments, managing and delivering training and overseeing quality within the blood sciences department as part of a multi-skilledteam.

We aim to deliver and continue to develop high quality services for both present and future clinical users of the department.

You will need to possess a relevant professional qualification to degree level or equivalent, an MSc, FIBMS or equivalent in a relevant discipline and HCPC registration.

Extensive experience post HCPC registration in Blood Transfusion is required and you should hold a recognised specialist transfusion qualification.

Excellent technical, interpersonal, IT skills and a commitment to the development of your specialist discipline is essential.

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England.
