Full Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist to join our Clinical Biochemistry team, supporting services across both hospital sites. This is a permanent, full-time position, primarily based at Bedford Hospital, with an expectation to work at the Luton & Dunstable site as required to meet service needs. Following completion of training, the successful candidate will participate in the 24/7 shift rota, providing essential clinical biochemistry services to patients across the Trust. We hold UKAS accreditation and IBMS/HCPC training status, and are one of the few organisations accredited by the National School of Healthcare Science across Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology and Transfusion Science. - Be responsible for the day-to-day operations and technical activities within Biochemistry, working in line with established protocols and standards.
- Support senior laboratory staff in delivering a high-quality, efficient, and effective service.
- Work across both the Luton and Bedford sites and, once fully trained, participate in the 24/7 shift rota.
- Contribute to the delivery of training in accordance with the departmental training policy.
- Be accountable for your own professional practice and actions.
