Full Job Description
We're recruiting for an experienced Billable Works Manager / Small Works Manager to lead the delivery of a varied programme of small works projects across the defence estate in Southern Oxfordshire. Job Description Projects can range up to £100,000, although most will typically be around £20,000-£30,000. You'll manage multiple projects simultaneously, taking responsibility from initial customer engagement and scoping through to delivery, completion and handover. The role requires a multi-skilled technical background, ideally with an M&E bias, along with strong project management and contractor management experience. Due to the nature of the Defence estate, projects can be extremely varied, including M&E, building works, civils, airfield infrastructure, boundary fencing and repairs to ageing or historic assets. Responsibilities
- Manage multiple Billable Works / Small Works projects from scope to completion
- Manage projects up to approximately £100k, typically £20k-£30k
- Develop scopes, programmes, project files and supporting documentation
- Manage contractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, compliantly and to programme
- Maintain strong H&S and CDM standards throughout projects
- Monitor progress, quality, costs and risks
- Liaise directly with customers, end users and key stakeholders
- Manage project completion, snagging and handover
- Ensure accurate records and documentation are maintained
Experience managing small works, minor projects or billable works - M&E/trades background preferred, with a broad multi-skilled understanding
- Experience managing contractors and subcontractors
- Good understanding of H&S and CDM
- Strong project administration and documentation skills
- Excellent customer-facing and stakeholder management abilities
- Able to manage a high volume of projects simultaneously
