Full Job Description

We are looking for a reliable, calm, and resilient individual to join our behaviour support unit - The LINK. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils who may experience behavioural, social, or emotional challenges, helping them to engage positively with their learning and school environment.

Success in this position is less about having all the answers and more about being a consistent, supportive presence for young people who need guidance, encouragement, and structure throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities

· Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

· Support students in managing their behaviour and emotions both inside and outside the classroom.

· Help pupils refocus and re-engage with learning following periods of dysregulation or challenging behaviour.

· Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to implement behaviour support strategies.

· Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

· Identify, record, and report any safeguarding concerns in accordance with TWBS policies and procedures.

· Encourage positive social interactions and emotional development.

· Maintain a calm and professional approach when responding to challenging situations.

· A calm, patient, and dependable approach.

· The ability to remain composed when situations do not go to plan.

· Confidence in setting and maintaining clear boundaries with consistency.

· Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

· Resilience and emotional maturity, with the ability not to take challenging behaviour personally.

· A genuine interest in supporting children and young people to succeed.

Previous experience working with children, young people, or individuals with additional needs is essential. You will also need to be confident in delivering 1:1 and small group curriculum-based interventions, We require, a person who would enjoy working in a highly effective SEN department. Some experience of working with young people in an educational environment would be an advantage. Good administrative skills are also required. Part time applications would be considered.
