Bank Registered Nurse

This is a strong move for an experienced Registered General Nurse who wants to specialise in eye care. At Optegra you will work alongside consultant ophthalmic surgeons and a supportive multi-disciplinary team, supporting patients through cataract surgery, glaucoma, refractive treatment and medical retina pathways.,

• Deliver high-quality nursing care across diagnostic, pre-operative, peri-operative and post-operative pathways
• Carry out pre-operative assessments and diagnostic testing
• Administer medicines and treatments in line with NMC standards
• Give clear pre- and post-operative instructions to patients and carers
• Assist with minor operations and support the theatre team
• Provide initial emergency care within your level of competency
• Maintain accurate, legible clinical documentation to NMC standards
• Follow infection prevention, decontamination and clinical governance standards
• Mentor and support junior team members
  
  Ophthalmology experience is desirable but not essential full training is provided., Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration
• Minimum one year post-qualification nursing experience
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to high-quality patient care
• Awareness of the NMC Professional Code of Conduct and the role of the CQC
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Desirable
• Previous experience in Ophthalmology, Theatre, General Surgery or Outpatients
You will ideally be someone who enjoys patient contact, works well in a team and stays calm in a busy clinical environment.
